Setting Up A New Email Address:
- Enter your Control Panel by pointing your browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/menu.
Once there, click on the Mail Manager Icon
. - On the page that opens up, look to the left of the page, where you will see some text that reads "New Address". Click on that.
- On the next page, you will see a text box labeled "username" and two other text boxes for passwords.
- As an example, we will use NancyDrew@mywebplace.com, as the email address we wish to create.
- In the 'unsername box' enter: nancydrew — this is your username. You may use periods (nancy.drew) or dashes (nancy-drew) or underscores (nancy_drew) but nothing else.
- In the next box, you'll be asked to type in a password for your nancydrew@mywebplace.com. Enter whatever password you would like. No spaces or other special characters please! For the sake of security, we strongly recommend that you use a combination of upper/lower case letters and digits (i.e., ALamo78miNe).
That's about all there is to setting up new email addresses. Once you've created your new email address, you may want to go farther and do a bit more with it. You'll notice at the top of the page, "Edit Email NancyDrew@mywebplace.com".
By clicking on that link, you'll be taken to a page where you can do other things with your email address such as:
- Combine the mailboxes where your emails will be sent to
- Forward your email to another email address (i.e., send NancyDrew@mywebplace.com to HerbertSmith@aol.com
- Set up an autoresponder
- Bounce certain emails
- And more!
